Jorge Garcia, M.D. Assistant director - curriculum

 

Dr. Garcia, a board certified physician, graduated from the University of California, San Francisco in 1983. He completed his Family Practice Residency at Group Health Cooperative of Puget Sound, Seattle, WA in 1986. He completed a Faculty Development Fellowship at the University of Washington in 1995. He first started working as Family Medicine residency faculty in 1993.

Dr. Garcia is currently the Assistant Director of Curriculum with responsibility for the resident rotation curriculum.  He is involved in teaching sonography and other procedures. Dr. Garcia’s medical interests include adolescent health care, sports medicine, cross-cultural medicine, OB ultrasound, and International health. Dr Garcia also works as Medical Director for a number of institutions, and is a senior consultant for International SOS. He has published video and paper texts with Dr. Tuggy.  He speaks Spanish and Portuguese with his many patients from Latin America.

 He lives in Seattle with his wife (also a family physician) and two children. He is active in the faculty band, Plan B, and studies in Seattle’s Jazz Night School.
