Miranda was born and raised in Illinois before moving to California for the middle third of her life. She attended medical school at University of California, San Francisco. In San Francisco, the challenges of poverty and poor access to medical care were apparent, driving her commitment to caring for the urban underserved. That led to a decision to leave foggy SF for drizzly Seattle to complete residency training at Harborview Medical Center through the University of Washington. She then worked for a year at a community health center before joining the faculty here at Swedish First Hill in 2009. She is very excited to have the opportunity to teach and to be a part of the medical home clinic at Swedish Ballard. Her other clinical interests include care of children, obstetrics, and sports medicine. She helps direct our Pediatrics curriculum.
Outside of work, Miranda enjoys time with her 2 young kids, which usually involves chocolate chip cookies, visits to the park, puddle jumping & chasing fire trucks. In the spare time she doesn’t have, she loves art, good music, time with friends & curling up with a good book.
