Kevin Wang, M.D.                       Faculty Physician

Kevin grew up in Michigan and has been a part of Swedish First Hill's Family Medicine Residency Program since August 2010.  He grew up in the suburbs of Detroit and attended Detroit's Wayne State University for his undergraduate and medical school education.  Although he initially promised himself to avoid any obstetrical care at any costs he ended up focusing on obstetrical care in his residency at Oakwood Annapolis Family Medicine!  He completed Swedish First Hill's OB Fellowship in July 2008 and headed back to his training program to help them start their OB Fellowship.  Eventually, Kevin made his way back to the Pacific Northwest when he accepted a opportunity to come back.  His areas of focus in the residency program including GYN health, coordinating abortion training for the residents and ensuring everyone is able to provide care to the LGBTQ community including gender affirming care.  He also provides cesarean deliveries to our residency patients and for patients of community Family Medicine providers.

Kevin is equally passionate about community service and outreach.  He is completing a 6 year term as a Board of Directors member of Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and Hawaiian Islands and is currently a Board of Directors member for Seattle Pride.  He is regularly engaged with the LGBTQ community working with Camp Ten Trees, an LGBTQ youth camp, Ingersoll Gender Center, a transgender support group who also holds provider consult discussions groups and teaches an LGBTQ Health Disparities course at the University of Washington.

Kevin believes that Family Medicine is the premiere specialty where we can care for patients from birth to end of life.  We can bond with our patients and their families to provide them full scope care.  He is excited to work with such an amazing group of staff, faculty, fellows and, of course, residents.  Working with a residency program keeps him on his toes where he hopes to learn from our amazing residents as much as he tries to teach them!
