Miranda was born and raised in Illinois before moving to California for the middle third of her life. She attended medical school at University of California, San Francisco. In San Francisco, the challenges of poverty and poor access to medical care were apparent, driving her commitment to care for urban underserved patients. That led to a decision to leave foggy SF for drizzly Seattle to complete residency training at Harborview Medical Center through the University of Washington. She then worked for a year at a community health center before joining the faculty here at Swedish First Hill in 2009. She sees patients at the Ballard clinic and her clinical interests include dermoscopy, pediatrics and sports medicine. She directs the Advanced Primary Care Orthopedics program along with the Outpatient Pediatrics, Dermatology and Coaching curriculums.
Outside of work, Miranda loves spending time with her husband and 3 kids... doing the mundane of life along with new adventures. She also enjoys listening to a good book, cooking up something interesting, musical theater & travel.
