From its origins as a pioneering family medicine program in 1970, Swedish Family Medicine Residency-First Hill has remained dedicated to the training outstanding family physicians and leaders. Our mission remains committed to serving our communities locally and globally as we train family physicians in patient care, leadership, and advocacy for health and social justice. We attempt to bridge inequity in healthcare and our communities by giving family physicians the tools to provide comprehensive and compassionate care for every patient they see. These tools include competency in medical assisted therapy, gender affirming care, procedural skill, cultural competency and anti-racism tools as well as inpatient and outpatient medicine and obstetrical skills. We are excited about the future of Family Medicine and the impact we can make in the communities to serve at both the local and national level.
